So at the author discussion panel, some interesting questions were raised by our audience. I'd love to get more feedback from you guys about one. How do you feel about romance/love in books?

HAVE to have it!! Life without romance is meaningless!
I don't like it. Buncha useless sappy crap...
It's a necessary element, since love is the driving force for a lot of people, but it shouldn't be the focus of the story.

Honestly it depends on the genre more than anything else, and how the author handles the romance.

For example, the romantic aspects of "Dracula" are handled differently with each new adaptation. But the romance initially was very much exploitative on the part of Dracula's seductions, and victorious Victorian propriety on the part of Jonathan. Now, people side with the vampires, so Dracula's ministrations turn into a liberating sort of awakening instead of blatant moral corruption.

That's my thoughts anyway. Oh, random but need to ask, are you going to finish the adult-Clarisse la Rue picture or is that project on hiatus? I know your success with the book takes immediate precedence, just wondering. Thank you!
